Observations About Guy Logic 101
Justice & Truth Reigns
After reading all of Blue Jeans Guy’s blogs, I feel he seems like a decent guy who got a pretty raw deal in his marriage. In his Guy Logic 101 blog, he brings up some excellent points. However…these are ideas written by a reasonable, decent man. Many of our ex’s are not reasonable and decent. They twist “guy logic” around to suit their own self-serving needs. For example:
Point 4: For the love of God, have a hobby or at least be understanding of his. I have always had my hobbies.
Yes, many of us would love to have fun, relaxing, interesting hobbies. However, when your husband goes out every night and all weekend until all hours pursuing his very important hobbies, that rarely leaves enough time for the wife to pursue any interests. Plus, there’s often not enough money left to actually engage in hobbies (after he’s spent it all), nor is there money for a sitter so wife can go out and do anything.
Point 6. If you love him, try to remember why you love him often. If you can’t think of a few good reasons, you’ve got problems.
If you have a decent husband/partner, this should be no problem. But when your husband treats you like dirt, verbally abuses you, neglects you, and cheats, I’m sorry, he doesn’t deserve to hear how loved he is.
Point 8. Find time to take a vacation or get out once in a while. Again, I don’t promote blowing off responsibility, or doing these things to excess, but all work and no play makes Jack a dull (and bored) boy. Boredom breeds discontent. An occasional escape will keep you both energized.
You can’t go away with a spouse that doesn’t want to be with you! If you’ve tried to plan 10 different vacations, and he constantly comes up with excuses why he can’t go (including going to Montreal with one of his buddies for the week so they can relax), it’s nearly impossible to plan that romantic escape.
